I always enjoy your viewpoint...

That said, a minor peeve:

One Inspector General...

Two Inspectors General

They are INSPECTORS, not GENERALS.

You imply that the Felon is susceptible to public opinion. I don't believe he is. He's going to so damage democracy that the public or the voters are irrelevant. And that is the goal. The only way the ReThuglican Party stays in power is via voter suppression, gerrymandering and the electoral college.

The way this ends will be if the system exerts itself (as in Congress or the Courts act, which is unlikely) or if the people rise up. I fear we may not get to the mid-term elections, or he will cancel them because we are at war with Denmark or something idiotic.

It is interesting to watch the stream of lawsuits and the rampaging of Musk's DOGE Dudes.

1. The federal judiciary has no means of compelling Trump's Executive Branch to comply with their orders and decisions.

2. Many members of Congress are silent because they are too afraid of losing their next election by being "primaried out". If they do manage re-election, they might find it to be an empty victory. The Project 2025 scriptwriters and DOGE see the various authorizations and appropriations as two big duffel bags; one stuffed with IOUs and the other stuffed with cash. DOGE is setting things up so that they can just "write the checks" to anyone they choose and in any amount they want. Who's gonna stop them?

President Trump is even more effective than in his first term. Bringing peace in Gaza seems impossible but trump is the man who could accomplish the task. Finally, an adult in the Whitehouse showing what a leader looks like. The tariff pause is a win. El Salvador, Columbia, Canada, Mexico, Panama. Egads, winning is addictive.

USAID is being blown up ridding the slush fund of politicians. In Rubio's hands the good parts are protected and the funds to be directed to causes aligned with American interests. Musk, a national treasure, is bringing sunlight to what became aa inarguable shithole in the name of USAID. America is back, but out of the shadows of the biden anti democratic oligarchy.

Interesting take. In my lifetime the big abdication by Congress was the Vietnam War. Congress never recovered and we've had an imperial presidency ever since.

Very true. He doesn't want to be called a failure, but the hue and cry must come from world leaders and people he admires. Unfortunately Musk could care less about criticism.
