There's considerable asymmetry here: Being jerks is a superpower for TruskMump, but we in the opposition must be considered, considerate, and constantly civilized. We must never overstep or overreach. They gather strength by lying; we lose by telling the truth. (Witness Pete Hegeth's rants.)

TruskMump's acolytes adore the swagger, the bullying, the lying, and the performative transgressions; that is their brand. They reject the Age of Reason. (Michiko Kakutani makes the point in The Death of Truth that decades ago, it was the left that embraced relativism and deconstruction, but now it's the right that embraces "alternative facts" and intellectual nihilism.)

The challenge of fighting lies believed by shallow and ignorant people is their staunch belief that they are correct. As David Dunning and Justin Kruger determined (in their namesake Dunning-Kruger effect), the less competent the individual, the more certain they are of their abilities. Put them into a mob (aka MAGA) and they become entrenched in their opinion, no matter how nonsensical. Oddly, Musk is competent. But, like Peter Pan, Musk directs his childish emotions (aka tantrums) toward anyone disagreeing with him. How do the incompetent and the recalcitrant learn the truth? Only when the world around them crumbles. Any day now.

Eric, typical elite nose in the air libber democrat. Of course you people are better, smarter and more civilized than republicans. Listen to yourself it's insulting, makes you appear shallow.(which you are) and reinforces the need to keep your ilk out of decision making for America. Just because you live in a cult with the Lemming (hands off rally) goosestep gatherings doesn't mean you are superior to us (me). As I have said, 77m of us saved America from bidens corrupt oligarchy and attack on democracy. 47 closed the border and your party left it up to him to fix all the biden disasters. Come down from your broken high horse. Thank God for trump and the national treasure Elon. IMHO

Actually it’s Erich with an “h” on the end. You know, really elitist. Born with a tin spoon in my mouth and scholarship student working part-time. I should probably make sure I put the MBA after my name like you know who’s, “JD.” I wouldn’t say more civilized. Just wanting to keep due process, habeas corpus, and constitutional rule of law. As a lawyer I would have thought you supported those trivial items. I’m so glad 47 fixed Biden’s disasters - like low inflation, low unemployment, robust stock market, and growing manufacturing. Thanks Trump for all you’ve done in less than 100 days.

Lynn says that Erich isn't better than him (not that Erich said he was), but after reading their respective comments I have to say, yes he is.

Trump supporters say they like him because he says what they think. They should be ashamed, but they have no shame. They’re proud of giving him the power to ruin our economy, wreck our institutions and make hate fashionable. Musk is Trump’s alter-ego – just more of the same: more money, bigger ego, no social skills.

The Democrats need to counter the 1,000's of lies from the Republicans and Trumpers with PASSION when they expose the truth! Yes, many of the MAGA will ignore the truth - they do not want to know that they are incorrect.

A little off the subject, but I think a large number of MAGA are "incels."

I have watch several YouTube videos of some of the Oval Office.goings on. Swearing in of cabinet nominees, signing executive orders., that sort of stuff. These people are genuinely having a good time and appear to be enjoying life way too much. Joking, laughter, generally cutting up. Releasing the inner child? (To use my Ashland lingo). Democrats who have largely lost any sense.of.humor, take.note.

Except Biden did not "ruin us." Of course, you will be able to cite all the reasons we got "ruined" in order to prove me wrong, and I welcome the effort. In the meantime, the CEOs of major box stores (Walmart, Target, Home Depot et) ... Trump donors all ... visited with 47 in the White House on Easter to tell him that if he continues down this idiotic, stupid, and completely unhinged trade war, there shelves will all be empty within two weeks. Today, 47 surrendered and lost his battle with China.

How does that feel?

As for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, not one of those things you have asserted about him are true, except in the barest of senses. Yes, he had two immigration hearings (actually, three) and yes, his wife did file for a protective order against him. The first two hearings denied him bail and did not rule on his status ... they denied him bail based on hearsay evidence (twice removed ... a detective who was citing an unnamed source from New York) and the fact that he was wearing a hoodie and a Chicago Bulls hat. The THIRD hearing granted him deportation protection and set him free, and also blasted the "evidence" that had been presented against him. Neither ICE nor the Justice Department appealed that decision. For the next six years, he worked gainfully, committed no crimes (not that he has ever been put on trial, let alone charged, for ANY crimes), and visited his ICE supervisor annually. No problem then

As for his wife. She is his primary defender and the loudest voice demanding his return. That in itself should be sufficient evidence that whatever problems they had have passed. But she has also testified, in court and under oath, that the restraining order was a mistake. Her previous partner HAD been an abuser, and when she and Kilmar got into a fight, out of precaution she asked for protection. He did not beat her

Taunting? Insults? Democrats own that space in their 10 year long attempt stay in power. It didn't work, thankfully. Thank God for trump and the national treasure Elon. I just checked and my account is up.

The angst against Elon is without reason other than democrats are fueled by hate anger intolerance and violence. They can't get to trump, they have exhausted their quiver. They will not be successful over Elon. So, who is next? They will one by one go after the cabinet.

That will fail and democrats will again default to violence.

As the world turns. 77m of us saved America from bidens corrupt oligarchy and attack on democracy.

Biden was a corporate Democrat, which is why many of us opposed him in his primary. But the corporate and wealthy donors who supported him also believed in the sanctity of the rule of law , understood that almost nothing is simply black-and-white, and embraced concepts like justice and equality for ALL (even the oft-marginalized and the accused). Those oligarchs who support 47 do not share those beliefs

Few of the oligarchs in the Biden camp were given positions of power in the Biden administration, and all appointed (and Senate confirmed) actually believed in the mission of the Departments and agencies in which they served. EVERY Trump appointee is either a millionaire or a sworn devotee with more loyalty to him than the country. Worse, everyone of them is a sworn enemy of the position to which they are appointed and/or someone whose interests are dependent on the policies and programs of that agency or department.

Our government is for sale, and the biggest bidders are buying it up in spades. You claim Biden is corrupt, but offer no evidence of said corruption or names of people in the Biden administration convicted … let alone accused … of corruption.

In fact, most of your undocumented and unverified assertions are really nothing more than projections onto “libs” what 47 and his Followers have normalized

You're arguing with a Trump supporter. Trump supporters believe in "alternative facts" because they live in an alternate reality. If you can't agree on basic facts, there's no basis for conversation.
