As a young Navy Public Affairs Officer, I was responsible for collecting body count info from various sources and sharing it daily with the press. One of the most disgusting duties I had. TACO Trump will call this a victory, but like everything he does - he causes a problem, fixes it - then tells the world he is great for solving those problems. More disgusting than a body count.

Except this time, Trump is not fixing the problem. He doesn't know how. We are now in a much worse situation than when he took office.

Larry Slessler.

Spending a year in Vietnam in 1965/66 and short TDY's (Temporary Duty) in 1967 and 1968; I well remember this body count insanity. I add one more thing from my perspective...My enemy/Viet Cong was willing to die for his/her war goals and beliefs. I and my fellow comrades were on the other hand NOT willing to die for the U.S. mission in Vietnam.

I was a teenager during Vietnam, so I remember the draft "lottery", young men going to war involuntarily or by choice and coming back changed forever. We were not prepared for "guerilla warfare" with the Vietnamese, just like we were not prepared for this war.

And then there is Hegseth's Christian Nationalist insanity:

TACO Trump likes to manipulate the markets by making dire threats and then changing his mind, first with tariffs and now war. But what has he accomplished? Iran remains in control of the Strait, ships still need their permission to go through and very few are doing it. Gas won’t be getting cheaper anytime soon.

During his State of the Disunion address, Trump said that people tell him: “We’re winning too much. We can’t take it anymore.” If this is what he calls winning, I can see why.

Regarding Vietnam, I like what Muhammad Ali had to say: ““Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go ten thousand miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?”

Whew is right! I figured that Trump was going to nuke Great Britain. After all, they’ve banned his favorite rapist, Ye, and said Iran bombers cannot take off from UK.
