Peter Sage is big on the internet.
Google: Peter Sage.
The one that comes up first and repeatedly is not me. It is this guy:
This Peter Sage is in the United Kingdom. He is a motivational speaker. He writes books and videos about how you can unlock your hidden mastery and become spectacularly successful, the way he claims he is. He recently spent 18 months in prison for contempt of court over some kind of fraud involving Hewlett Packard. He apparently ran a mail order porn scam and a male escort service in the past. Now his primary work seems to be self promotion. He is Peter Sage, but he isn't me.
This next one isn't me, either.
If you Google Peter Sage and add Harvard to try to isolate me amid the promotions for the British guy, one gets another Peter Sage. It seems improbable, but this other man's full name appears to be Peter The Sage. Really. He has a PhD and runs "The Sage Lab" associated with Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Somewhere on page two or three of a Google Search for PeterSage one finally gets to this:
Google gets to me faster if one searches forPeter Sage Oregon, Peter Sage Medford, or Peter Sage Up Close. I become visible amid the British Peter Sage’s promotions of his sure-fire formulas for personal and financial success. My photos start showing up among his. My stuff is intermingled and it is confusing. There are links to my blog posts amid his links to videos about how to become a millionaire and explanations for his prison sentence. Some of those photos really are of me. Here I am photographed by someone else while I am trying to frame a selfie with Ted Cruz over my shoulder. I am at a South Carolina Tea Party Convention.
My current internet presence is mostly blog posts from the past seven years and links to my political contributions. The only way to find me and this blog without links promoting the British Peter Sage is to search for Peter Sage Jackson County Commissioner. That finds me. I haven't been a Jackson County Commissioner for 38 years, but the other Peter Sages have never been one.
If you Google "David Gilmour" you will get the former guitarist for the Pink Floyd and not me. Too bad that he doesn't get more of my Emails asking for campaign contributions or junk mail asking for charitable contributions.
Well, my oh my, you are certainly well travelled Peter!
