Kevin Stine, who is on the Medford City Council, supports turning Hawthorne Park into a baseball stadium that would cost the city millions of dollars. They’ve already spent half a million “studying” the project. Hawthorne Park is one of the all-too-few green spaces in Medford that people can now use for free. Those who would like to keep it that way should come to the council meeting this evening at six.

Gov. Kotek has good reason to be concerned about the amount of water and electricity these high-tech data centers consume. Everybody should be.

In my time here I have volunteered significant time for SOCAN's Climate Summit some years ago. Kevin Stine was the only politician who came to all three days of the Summit. I was on the Steering Committee for the development of Hope Village, the housing for homeless project, and Kevin was front and center helping it along, even at a time when there was significant opposition from the mayor and other City Councilors. I watched part of a candidate forum and Kevin came across as a knowledgeable practical politician. So, yeah, I am voting for Kevin. But I have nothing bad to say about any of the candidates. They are all good, I think. I volunteered some time at the Democratic Party booth at the Talent fair last year, and shared some time with Christian Ruvalcaba, and found him to be a very impressive young man.

I like the work ethic of Denise Krause. I voted for her and don't appreciate the hatchet job someone has tried to do to her campaign.

I voted for Denise Krause. All the candidates have good backgrounds, but what I look for in a candidate is whether or not they will be effective. Oregon Democratic Senators enjoy a majority, so they are often able to get legislation passed with little effort and without any support from Republicans, but this is not always the case. To be effective, one needs to be able to listen and relate to all people, not just those in our "circle". Denise is not beholden to any particular group and is not inside any particular "bubble". She listens to everyone and makes decisions based on what makes sense and what is possible.

Denise is an excellent communicator and an incredibly hard worker. Based on interviews and panel discussions, I cannot say that about any of the other candidates. I believe Denise is the only one of the candidates who can beat the republican opponent.

In México, the PRI (Institutional Revolutionary Party) ruled the government for an uninterrupted 71 years, from 1929 to 2000. During that period, an unusual tradition became entrenched, called El Tapado, which literally means, "The Covered One." The current President, limited by law to one six-year term, would annoint their successor, but not name them publicly. Derided as undemocratic because it collected no input from the public or even other party officials, it was not uncommon for the covered one to change before the Destape or uncovering. This process is known as Dedazo, which means "finger-pointing," as the President, and she alone, points to her successor. Gives endorsement a totally Latin meaning.

I am disappointed in you Peter Sage. Eric is a substitute teacher with no college degree. I want smart people in office. He also can be "bought" by his Republican supporters.

I have no idea who Eric is,, either. If Sal means Erich Almasy, he is a graduate of Harvard and the Harvard Business School and the single hiighest paid graduate of HBS when he graduated about 1973 (which is how they measure aptitude and success at that institution.) Hardly a dummy.

May I ask who Eric is?
